The Varaita Valley starts from Costigliole Saluzzo from 400 meters of altitude and spread westward in the direction almost straight up to Casteldelfino, where the road forks in Varaita Valley of Bellino and Varaita Valley of Chianale. The main street flow in the valley until Agnello Pass (2748 m), which is the border with France.

The whole valley is crossed by the river Varaita.
